TITLE: PURCHASING MANAGER
REPORTS INTO: MANAGER OF OPERATIONS
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for ordering, tracking + ensuring delivery of all goods, for both client projects and internal purposes. He/she manages all aspects of purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support organizational operations and the wider team. He/she is an important part of the team, and should be the go-to person for how things are tracking along.
TO EXCEL AT THIS JOB, PURCHASING MANAGER NEEDS TO:

Have a huge attention to detail, illustrated through the ability to keep track of/be familiar with extensive inventory.

Have strong knowledge of/appreciation for design.
Be personable, professional, and friendly, showcasing an ability to work with a huge range of people and companies, from subcontractors to high-end clientele.
PURCHASING MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Maintaining records of goods ordered and received, for external + internal needs, inclusive of any custom items.
Ensuring that all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints.
Determining + tracking quantity and timing of deliveries.
Communicating with all relevant parties to ensure everyone is aware of timelines + status.
Troubleshooting cost, quality and delivery concerns.
Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and internal team.
Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Assessing, managing and mitigating risks, communicating concerns where needed.
Monitoring and forecasting upcoming levels of demand.
Establishing and implementing purchasing policies, procedures and best practices.
Establishing and updating approved vendor/supplier database.
Producing regular reports on purchases, budgets and delivery performance.
Order, track, manage & analyze company expenditures.
Set up trade accounts, manage vendor logins/price lists/vendor contacts in document on drive.
REQUIRED SKILL SET
We believe that anyone from any background can be a great addition to our team, but these skills are important to this role:
Advanced level of excel knowledge
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
Experience with negotiation and networking
Working experience of vendor management software
Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
